About Our Company

The development of Component Kft.

The history of Component Kft. spans more than three decades, during which we have continuously expanded our activities to provide increasingly complex services to our customers.

The company was founded in 1989 by three private individuals – József Mészáros, Krisztina Mészáros, and István Nagy – together with Mikromodul Foreign Trade Company and the Oil & Gas Instrumentation Electronics Cooperative.

We entered the process control market

Initially, we focused on distributing electronic fittings and assemblies, but as domestic production declined, a change became necessary. This coincided with the beginning of import liberalization, when we started distributing process control instruments from international manufacturers.

Among our early customers were the MOL Danube Refinery (today MOL Nyrt.) and the oil and gas extraction sector, where we supplied operational and maintenance materials.

The next stage of our development was expanding into other industries. Our product portfolio grew to include instruments for the chemical industry and nuclear power plants, capable of precisely measuring and controlling the properties of various liquids and gases.

Expanding product portfolio and quarter-century partnerships

To meet diverse market demands, we became the Hungarian representative of several major international manufacturers, establishing partnerships with many of them that now span more than 25 years.

As our portfolio expanded, our company also grew at the corporate level, adding highly qualified engineers and sales professionals.

From 1994, the company’s headquarters was located in Galambóc Street, District XI of Budapest, before moving in 2008 to its current, larger and more modern center in Bácsalmás Street, also in District XI.

Becoming a family business

Over time, the company’s management also changed. From the beginning, István Nagy served as our Managing Director, and in 2009 he bought out his partners, turning Component Kft. into a family-owned business.

This gave new momentum to our development. In 2010, we opened our Kazincbarcika site, where we operate a control valve warehouse and carry out electrical, instrumentation maintenance, and installation work.

Starting in 2012, we established our CNC machining plant in Martonvásár in several phases. With a modern machine park and experienced professionals, we focus on custom and small-series part production. This enables us to offer even more complex mechanical assemblies to our customers and to expand our service capabilities.

Evolving into a group of companies

Our current Managing Director, Dániel Nagy, joined the leadership of Component Kft. in 2016. Under his direction, D-Tech Kft., a company specializing in industrial pumps, became part of our group.

The two companies had enjoyed a strong relationship and cooperation in the past. When D-Tech became available for acquisition, it provided an excellent opportunity to expand our portfolio with pumps in addition to instruments and fittings.

In 2020, we opened our pump service center to provide repair and maintenance alongside distribution.

Expanding to international markets

With the acquisition of D-Tech Kft., the Component Group was established, which expanded further in 2023 with the addition of S&D Controls. Based in Prague, this company supplies control instrumentation to the Czech and Slovak markets. We are actively working on further international expansion.

We are proud that our 100% Hungarian-owned company has become a key player in Hungary’s industrial process control sector.

What began as a trading-focused business has grown into an engineering service provider, offering our customers a wide range of products and services.
